The mission of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance is to provide opportunities for high-quality academic competition throughout the state of Missouri. As part of that mission, the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance seeks to recognize outstanding involvement by students who work to improve the game of quizbowl in this state.

Students on the Washington High School Quiz Bowl Team and the David H. Hickman High School Academic Team collaborated to produce the Washington-Hickman Academic Questionfest, a high-quality question set written for the high school tournaments hosted at their schools and at least 14 other tournaments nationwide. WHAQ has been regarded as one of the most accessible and well-written sets of the 2016-2017 competition season.

The Missouri Quizbowl Alliance commends the Washington and Hickman teams for their significant efforts in promoting high-quality academic competition in Missouri and will recognize these efforts by publicizing the award upon the MOQBA website and by presenting them with plaques and certificates as part of the 2017 NAQT Missouri State Qualifier ceremonies held on March 4, 2017.
