The MOQBA Award for Outstanding Student Involvement was presented to Ben Zhang and Jialin Ding of Ladue Horton Watkins High School in 2014, for successfully hosting the 2013 Ladue Fall Novice Tournament and for producing and editing the nationally lauded Ladue Invitational Spring Tournament IV question set, which has been mirrored or scheduled for 15 sites nationwide in the 2013-2014 competition year.
The mission of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance is to provide opportunities for high-quality academic competition throughout the state of Missouri. As part of that mission, the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance seeks to recognize outstanding involvement by students who work to improve the game of quizbowl in this state.
Ladue Horton Watkins High School students Ben Zhang and Jialin Ding have collaboratively performed two feats that we consider deserving of recognition:
The Missouri Quizbowl Alliance commends Ben and Jialin for their significant efforts in promoting high-quality academic competition in Missouri and will recognize these efforts by publicizing the award upon the MOQBA website and by presenting them with plaques and certificates as part of the 2014 NAQT Missouri State Qualifier ceremonies held on March 1, 2014.
So supported and signed by the membership of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance as of March 1, 2014.
