2011 MOQBA Award for Outstanding Student Involvement

Presented to Samantha Haynes, Jefferson City High School

The first ever MOQBA Award for Outstanding Student Involvement was presented to Samantha Haynes of Jefferson City High School at the fourth annual NAQT Missouri Qualifier on March 5, 2011, for establishing and directing the Bill Currie Memorial Tournament on November 13, 2010.

Resolution ~ ~ ~ ~ March 5, 2011

WHEREAS, the mission of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance is to provide opportunities for high-quality academic competition throughout the state of Missouri;

Whereas, as part of that mission, the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance seeks to recognize outstanding involvement by students who seek to improve the game of quizbowl in this state;

Whereas, Jefferson City High School student Samantha Haynes spearheaded the establishment and execution of the Bill Currie Memorial Tournament on November 13, 2010, which the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance recognizes as a significant effort by a high school student to promote high-quality academic competition in the state of Missouri:

Now, therefore, be it RESOLVED that the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance will:

  1. award Samantha Haynes with a plaque to symbolize our appreciation for her efforts in promoting high-quality academic competition in Missouri; and
  2. recognize her efforts by publicizing the award upon the MOQBA website; and
  3. present this award as part of the 2011 NAQT Missouri State Qualifier ceremonies held on March 5, 2011.

So supported and signed by the membership of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance as of March 5, 2011.
