High school quizbowl in Missouri involves students in grades 9-12. Nearly all high school quizbowl tournaments in Missouri, including all high school tournaments sponsored by the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance, are subject to the rules and regulations of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regarding participation in Scholar Bowl competition.
The Missouri Quizbowl Alliance promotes participation in tournaments that use high quality pyramidal questions and encourage greater participation by all teams by guaranteeing more games than many other Missouri tournaments offer.

MOQBA certifies and promotes events that meet an established set of standards for high quality quizbowl events. MOQBA events offer an exceptional value by using high quality pyramidal questions that reward academic knowledge, offering many games to all teams, and providing an enjoyable and professionally conducted tournament experience.
The NAQT Missouri Qualifier is MOQBA's flagship NAQT tournament, held annually in the spring, that regularly features a diverse field of teams from throughout Missouri, recognizing the state's top teams for national tournament qualification in a fast-paced championship atmosphere.

Instead of our traditional in-person events, MOQBA hosted two tournaments online in the spring semester of 2021.
