- We will be using 15 point powers but will not use negs. Bonuses will not rebound.
The field is currently limited to 12 teams, with expansion possible if enough staff volunteers are available. The field will be divided into balanced preliminary pools for five morning rounds. After lunch, all teams will be rebracketed into championship and consolation pools for three afternoon rounds. The pool format could change depending on the final number of teams, but all teams should expect to play eight or nine rounds.

- Rescheduled from the original date of Monday, February 12.
The tournaments will be in the 20 tossup/20 bonus format, and we will be using powers for early buzzing. We will not be using bounce backs on bonus questions or negative points for wrong answers.
For the novice tournament, all freshman and sophomore players, regardless of placement on your regular teams, are eligible to play. No juniors or seniors may play; the goal is that your younger students get an idea of who will be their competition in the next few years of competing. For the middle school tournament, all 7th and 8th graders are eligible to play. Sixth graders are allowed if your school allowed 6th graders to participate and are on your MSHSAA rosters.
Matches will begin at 9 AM and there will be a lunch break around 12 to 12:30 PM. We hope to be done no later than 5 PM.

- The tournaments will be in the 20 Tossup/20 Bonus format and we will be utilizing Powers for early buzzing. We will NOT be using bouncebacks on bonus questions or negative points for wrong answers (negs).
For the Novice tournament, all Freshmen and Sophomore players (regardless of placement on your regular teams) are eligible to play. No Juniors or Seniors may play. The goal is that your younger students get an idea of who will be their competition in the next few years of competition. I do ask that, should you have a superstar player (Someone who is dominating regular HS Sets) to consider that it would be a waste of their time to beat up on novice players and easier questions.
For the MS tournament, all 7th and 8th graders are eligible to play. 6th graders are allowed if your school allows 6th graders to participate and are on your MSHSAA rosters. This set will be more challenging for MS players, but at this point in the season this is a good preview of what future quiz bowl will look like as players prepare to promote to High School.
