- Questions: NAQT MS-44
- Students in grades 6-8 are eligible to play--with one important caveat: If your school now counts 6th graders as "middle schoolers" via MSHSAA, bring them! If not, only 7-8th graders are eligible to play.
The field will be capped at 24 teams (no more than six players on a team, please). Play will begin at 9 a.m. and we hope to finish around 4 p.m. Please arrive by 8:20 a.m. at the latest! The exact format will be determined after the number of teams has been finalized. Expect to play at least 8 rounds and stay for the entire tournament regardless of performance.
Each game will consist of twenty tossups and bonuses. We will use powers, but no penalties for incorrect tossups (negs). Bonuses will rebound.

- The tournaments will be in the 20 Tossup/20 Bonus format and we will be utilizing Powers for early buzzing. We will NOT be using bouncebacks on bonus questions or negative points for wrong answers (negs).
For the Novice tournament, all Freshmen and Sophomore players (regardless of placement on your regular teams) are eligible to play. No Juniors or Seniors may play. The goal is that your younger students get an idea of who will be their competition in the next few years of competition.
For the MS tournament, all 7th and 8th graders are eligible to play. 6th graders are allowed if your school allows 6th graders to participate and are on your MSHSAA rosters.

- Correct tossup answers are ten points each, with an additional five-point "power" awarded for providing a correct answer before a predetermined point. We will not assess a penalty for interrupting the moderator during the tossup with an incorrect answer.
Teams will play five morning rounds, break for lunch, then return for at least three afternoon games. This setup is subject to change, depending on the number of teams signed up. We plan to start the team meeting in our cafenasium at 8:30 a.m., with the first round set for 8:50 a.m. and afternoon rounds slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. We anticipate the last game ending around 4 p.m.
