- The tournament will be in the 20 Tossup/20 Bonus format and we will be utilizing Powers for early buzzing. We will NOT be using bouncebacks on bonus questions or negative points for wrong answers (negs).
We are currently capping the field at 30 teams. The field can expand if there is more interest and more importantly staff. Last year we were able to accommodate 42 teams thanks to a wonder pool of staffers and helpers, and I would love to host that size again.

- Rockhurst Invitational Fall Tournament
- Rockhurst High School
- PACE NSC Qualifier
- Questions: 2023 Planetfall
- Games will consist of twenty tossups worth ten points each, followed by three bonuses worth up to thirty points. Bonuses will not rebound. This tournament will use both 15 point "powers" for early correct buzzes on tossups and -5 point "negs" for early incorrect buzzes. In the event of a tied game after twenty tossup/bonus cycles, teams will hear tossups until the score changes (a correct answer or a neg ends the game immediately).
We intend to begin round 1 at approximately 9:00 AM Central. Registered teams should arrive between 7:45 AM and 8:30 AM for morning check-in, followed by an introductory meeting at 8:45 AM. A lunch break will follow five preliminary rounds, with all teams returning from lunch for championship or consolation games in the afternoon. All teams will be guaranteed nine games, and we anticipate most teams being done for the day at approximately 4:30 PM.

- Washington University Fall Academic Tournament VIII
- Washington University in St. Louis
- PACE NSC Qualifier
- Questions: 2023 Planetfall
- We are allowing for direct entry for the first two teams from a school. A school’s first two teams will have priority on the waitlist, ahead of any further (C and so on) teams from a school. Any further teams (example: C or D teams) will be placed on a separate waitlist and allowed into the field around 10 days before the tournament date, pending available space in the field (so you will know by around October 25th).
We will be limiting a team’s roster to a maximum of 6 players; schools are encouraged to bring junior varsity or "B" or "C" teams to compete. Rosters will be submitted in advance, but won’t be finalized until during check-in the morning of the tournament. Players may not change teams during the tournament.

- Bulldog Fall Fiesta
- Mexico High School
- Varsity Division
- Novice Division
- PACE NSC Qualifier
- Questions: SHOW-ME More (Varsity) and MOQBA Novice II
- BFF will consist of a minimum of eight games for all teams in the standard 20/20 match format.
Correct tossup answers are ten points each. Tossups are powermarked, and correct responses given before the mark will receive an additional five points. We will not assess a five-point penalty for interrupting the moderator during the tossup with an incorrect answer. Each incorrect bonus part will immediately rebound.
We will offer a varsity and novice division.
We anticipate the varsity division serving as a qualifier for the PACE National Scholastic Championship in Reston, Virginia. The novice division will not serve as a qualifying division for national bids, as the following roster restrictions are in place:
All freshmen are eligible to compete in the novice division.
All sophomores are eligible to compete in the novice division, with the exception of players who averaged at least 20 points per game at HSNCT, SSNCT, or NSC.
Juniors and seniors may compete in the novice division if they have not competed at a quiz bowl contest at the high school level prior to October 1st, 2023.

- This tournament defines novices as first- or second-year Scholar Bowl students who have not attended a national tournament. This does include the possibility of juniors and seniors. Team rosters may have up to six players for the day, with four players playing simultaneously.
Games will consist of twenty tossups worth ten points each and three bonuses worth up to thirty points. Bonuses will rebound. This tournament will use 15-point "powers" for early correct buzzes on tossups. No -5 point "negs" will be assigned for early incorrect buzzes. In the event of a tied game after twenty tossup/bonus cycles, teams will hear tossups until the score changes (a correct answer ends the game immediately).
We are setting a preliminary cap of 24 teams for this event, but we may expand the field should there be enough interest and enough staff to meet the needs of an expanded field.
Update: This tournament is no longer supporting middle school play. We are intending to host a middle school tournament this Spring. Please email Seth if you are interested in this.
